Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, a new Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP) Program was established.

The State of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services received HPRP funds for the provision of short or medium term rental assistance, housing relocation, and stabilization services including housing search, mediation or outreach to property owners, credit repair, security or utility deposits, utility payments, rental assistance, moving cost assistance, case management or activities related to rapid re-housing of homeless persons.
