Recognizing that New Hampshire's current housing shortage is a limiting factor to local and regional economic growth and that community resistance to housing development has, to some degree, prevented market forces from balancing the supply with the demand, New Hampshire Housing has established the Housing Education and Advocacy Community Mini-Grant Program. The purpose of this grant program is to make funds available to community leaders and activists for the development of information and educational materials, targeted advertising, limited locally focused research activities or other innovative or unique methods of reducing local resistance to housing development. Grants of up to $5,000 are available to eligible entities such as local economic development groups, business groups, governments, service organizations and regional economic development corporations. For more information on the grant program, including eligibility and application requirements, interested groups may contact Bill Ray, Director of Policy & Planning for New Hampshire Housing at 603-472-8623 or bray@nhhfa.org.
