Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program
The FSS Program offers employment coaching and financial coaching to the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher head of household who is working, or able and willing to work, at least part time.
- While working, if your portion of the rent increases because your income increases, money will be added every month to an FSS escrow savings account for you. this money can be used to help reach your goals or saved until you complete the program. Average savings is around $4,500.
- New Hampshire Housing offers a small loan and grant program to help FSS participants overcome barriers to employment You may receive up to $1,500 in grant funds and $4,000 as a low-interest loan while on the program.

Homeownership Education & Counseling
Have you ever dreamed of owning your own home? If you have not owned a home in the last three years, can complete homeownership education/counseling, and meet certain income and credit history requirements, you may be able to use your voucher for assistance paying a mortgage by using the Voucher Homeownership Option (English / Spanish).
