Want to learn how to build an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) on your property? Curious about how ADUs can help address our region’s housing crisis? Come learn from builders, planners, housing innovators, and more about what ADUs are and how to make them happen! Come to the 2023 Home Creators Expo — a partnership between the Town of Hartford, Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission and Vital Communities — at the Hartford Area Career and Technical Center on Saturday May 6.

The Upper Valley needs hundreds of new affordable houses and apartments. Many of these new units can be built by converting part of or adding on to existing homes or placing another home on the lot. These ADUs fit in with our neighborhoods, create income for owners, enable accessible living spaces for seniors, provide places for needed workers to live, increase economic activity in the area, help keep school enrollment steady, and save on energy.
