Notice of Public Hearing Regarding Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter

Notice is hereby given that, on Thursday, June 17, 2021, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM,

New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority (the Authority) will hold a public hearing with respect to a proposal for financing by the Authority for a project known as Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter. The Authority intends to approve the use of up to $800,000 in Affordable Housing Fund (AHF) monies as a part of the project financing; the amount approved may be decreased or increased at the Authority’s discretion. The proposed financing is for the historic preservation and adaptive reuse of a former school building into 11 units of permanent supportive housing in combination with emergency shelter at 35 Spring Street in Nashua, New Hampshire. The proposed $8.65M project will provide 11 units of rental housing and 80 beds of emergency shelter. The owner and operator of the proposed project will be Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter, Inc. located in Nashua, New Hampshire. The hearing is open to the public and will be held at the offices of the Nashua Regional Planning Commission at 30 Temple Street, Suite 310, Nashua, NH 03060 in the Large Conference Room from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

The Authority is the administrator of the Affordable Housing Fund pursuant to RSA 204-C:56-62 and has established Rules for the administration of the Affordable Housing Fund (HFA 113).  

Written comments will be accepted for two business days following the public hearing, and must be received by email, fax, or physical delivery no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 21, 2021.
